A Marine veteran’s life was always saved by a doggo while they were in Afghanistan. Years later, the human decided to adopt the doggo.
– A Marine Veteran once worked with a military dog.
– The dog saved the life of this marine veteran countless times.
– In 2018, when the doggo retired, the marine veteran adopted it.
The doggo, named Blue, reportedly saved the life of Byung Kang so many times he already lost track. The two were together on more than 300 combat missions from 2011 to 2012. The dog, a Black Labrador Retriever, was trained to detect bombs in the area. Blue was very effective so Kang and his troop used to walk for miles and miles because the doggo kept on finding these explosives. One evening in Afghanistan, Kang said he was so overwhelmed by the fact that she saved his life numerous times that he promised her he will one day adopt her. Blue retried from military work in 2018 and got adopted by Kang’s family. They all live in Lawrenceville, Georgia now.
Blue is currently a semifinalist for 2020 American Humane Hero Dog Awards.
