In Florence, South Carolina, a woman wants justice for her doggo. She claims that the dog, a German Shepherd, is being held in custody in an unlawful manner.
– A woman from South Carolina wants her dog to be freed from a local shelter.
– She said that someone claimed her doggo was a dangerous dog.
– She now has to go to court to fight for her doggo’s freedom.
The doggo is reportedly at the Florence County Animal Shelter and has stayed there for the past three weeks. The dog owner said that on May 1, she got home and found that her doggo was gone. On her door, she found a note from Florence County Environmental Services saying that she had 15 days to claim the doggo from the shelter. The dog owner said they immediately contacted the shelter through their Facebook page but they were told they cannot pick him up that day. They went to the shelter the next Monday and she said, “…they were like this is a bigger case than we thought and we’d have to go to court to get him back.”
The shelter claimed the doggo was deemed as dangerous by a neighbor thus the possible court proceedings. Florence County Environmental Services did not comment on the matter. The dog owner is now asking for proof regarding the reason why the doggo was deemed as dangerous because as far as she knows, the doggo never hurt a person or an animal. Many citizens have expressed their support for the dog owner. The dog owner will be in court on May 28 with her lawyer to fight for the doggo’s freedom.
