A woman claims that an airline killed her dog. Allegedly, during the transport, the doggo was frozen to death.
– A dog owner claims she and her dog were supposed to be in the cabin together.
– However, the dog owner was asked to place the dog in the storage.
– When they landed, the dog was already dead.
The incident took place on January 15 and the dog owner was identified as Maria Fernanda Echeverry. She shared that she was traveling from Puerto de Asis and Santiago de Cali, which are in Colombia, via the EasyFly airline. She had her dog, Homero, with her. She claimed that when she purchased their ticket, she asked to travel with her dog in the cabin. However, when they were already on the plane, she was forced to put her dog in the storage.
When they landed, she found out her dog was already ydead in the carrier. When she spoke to a veterinarian, she was told that the plane was not equipped to transport animals. The low temperature ta the storage area caused the dog to suffer from hypothermia and hypoxia.
The airline said that they had to have the doggo placed in storage because the dog owner did not present proof that the doggo was vaccinated or had documentation to allow the dog to be in the cabin.
The incident is now being investigated by the Attorney General’s Office.
