The dog is a three-year-old chow chow. It got lost sometime in October during the hike at the Beartooth Mountains in Billings, Montana. The dog owner shared that she received a voice mail on November 17 about her doggo Leo. The voice mail turned out to be from Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter.
The dog owner shared that when she and her mom were on a break from the hike, the dog went down the mountain to meet the dog owner’s husband and father. Unfortunately, the two men never saw the doggo and the dog no longer went back to the dog owner and her mom. They then spent around three hours looking for the animal but were unsuccessful.
Thankfully, the dog was cared for and fed by a community in the area. However, the dog never wanted to be trapped. Later, a trap was set by the Humane Society of the United States and eventually, the dog was brought to the animal shelter. The dog was microchipped that is why the dog owner was tracked.
The dog owner went to the animal shelter and took the doggo home.
