A war veteran from Cumberland, Maryland used to drink a lot of medicines so he can cope with his physical pain. The war veteran also suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder. Now, however, his lie has completely changed ever since he got his service doggo.

The dog, nicknamed Kevin the wonder dog by its new family, has been a lot of help to the war veteran. The three-year-old service doggo wakes up his owner whenever he has nightmares, helps him when he gets dizzy while on the stairs, turns the lights on and off whenever they are in a room, and helps the dog owner go around the city without the fear of being uncomfortable.
Kevin was actually trained by one of the inmates at Western Correctional Institution. He was one of the 23 service dogs under the program by America’s VetDogs. Just recently, Kevin and its new owner went to the institution to thank the inmates who trained the doggos.
The person who trained Kevin was convicted of robbery and murder at the age of 17. He said that when he was given the responsibility to train Kevin, it was his first ever actual job.
