A doggo was rescued in a barrel and the rescue was the right timing. The dog might have frozen to death because at the time the dog was rescued, the temperatures were starting to dip near freezing.

According to the Providence Animal Center, they are now taking care of the severely underweight doggo. The dog was rescued by a Human Society police officer but the circumstances leading to the discovery remain unclear. The police officer was the one who named the doggo Gwen because the name means “holy, pure, and blessed.”
The dog is still at a veterinary clinic to undergo check-ups. The dog will soon be taken home to the shelter where it will recovery and hopefully get adopted out soon. Providence Animal Center is now asking donations for the emergency care for the doggo.
