The woman said that her two French bulldogs were placed on a cargo hold. The dog owner claimed that she paid $2,600 for her doggos to be transported via the area where live animals are placed. However, it was found out that the dogs were taken to the luggage hold. When they arrived at Dulles International Airport, she was told that her dogs, Panda and Beluga, were already dead. Necropsy results showed that the doggos died from oxygen deprivation.
The woman flew with her doggos from Dubai to Washington, D.C. for a leukemia treatment. The dog owner is now asking for justice for what happened to her doggos.
A spokesperson for Emirates released a statement saying that the dogs “were flown following all standard procedures and mandatory checks and inspections in conformance with regulations concerning the transport of live animals.” They added that they will extend all possible support to the dog owner.
