A lot of people showed up at the tribute in Richmond, Virginia. The vigil coordinate for the dog, a pit bull, said that she “never cried or shed this many tears for any dog.” Another person attending the tribute said that they are still devastated over what happened to the dog.

The tribute was separate from the five-day open house set up by Richmond Animal Care and Control, which was the rescue center’s way of remembering the doggo.

People are now asking for the police to give justice to the dog’s death. There are still no leads as to how abandoned the dog and later set it on fire.
