The incident took place on Saturday, August 8. Accordingly, the rescuers had to use a boat to get to where the dog was stuck at the Kleinstuck Preserve. It was around 9 A.M. when they went to rescue the animal. Initially, they could only hear the dog’s barks and could not find it it so they asked for a boat. Despite the dog’s barks, the rescuers were having a difficult time to locate it and when they were ready to terminate the rescue operation, the dog started barking again and followed its barks.
The dog was in good health. It is unclear if the dog was taken to a veterinarian. The dog owner has not been located or contacted yet.
