– A dog was found drowning in a Kings County river.
– The dog was saved by two fishermen.
– The dog, however, is not yet out of the woods because…
The two fishermen found the doggo on Friday morning before sunrise. Thanks to the fishermen, the dog was able to get some warmth in her system as they wrapped it in a blanket then called animal control. When animal control came, the dog was found to be suffering because it has two broken legs.
The dog was taken to the animal control center in the area, was given pain medications, and getting a lot of rest. As the dog is recovering from almost drowning, the dog will soon undergo surgery to repair its broken legs.
The surgery could cost around $3,000 to $5,000. The Kings Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to animals is asking donations to help with the medical costs.
