– The therapy dogs graduated from Bideawee, a nonprofit organization which trains dogs to visit schools, nursing homes and other industries.
– Originally, the six therapy dogs were deployed during Thanksgiving Day, but their success in making fliers happy caused an extension of their services at the airport.
– Fliers and airport crew alike have expressed their love for what the dogs bring to the airport.
LaGuardia airport is redeveloping LaGuardia Terminal B at a cost of $4 billion.
The Comfort Crew of therapy dogs are there so that people can pet them and feel less stressful.
Rebecca Cabrera, a flight attendant, said that the therapy dogs help calm passengers down, amidst the hassles involved in security in the airport.
Aside from the “Comfort Crew,” LaGuardia also used the “Fun Squad” composed of jugglers and improv experts to entertain their customers.
