Have you been in a dog show, particularly the well-known ones like Westminster dog show? You will be amazed how the dogs show their intelligence.
But wait, did you know that these dogs do not only show how smart they are, but they also show how obedient they are? In fact, a Labrador Retriever wins the heart of the crowd and the judges because of her obedience.
She is Heart, a 3-year old Lab. Her handler, who is so proud of her, Linda Brennan is still surprised. She is the winner among 33 other dog breeds. The contestants are from cute poodle to powerful Rottweiler.
The commands are not just basic sit and stay. Heart shows more to them that lead the audience in amusement. During the competition, the handlers could not even use treat. The dogs need to do everything on their own.
There are 10 finalists. They did the six-minute routines like spinning, walking, and weaving. There is also an obedience puzzle. Obedience exercises show good dog manners.
This means Heart is the winner of all. It also shows safety needs, and herding or hunting skills. Thanks to a dog show like this as the dogs are given the chance to show what they can do. Do not forget to share this story with your family and friends!
