A teacher used her own money just to get something for her special education needs students – a companion dog. The cost was a challenge but she was able to save enough money for her students.

The teacher, Amina Rand, found Hannah, a St. Bernard, whom she got for $10,000. The dog has basic training as a companion dog but Rand has to train her more in order to aid her students at the special education high school.
A companion dog can be of great help for kids with special needs. Just by being in a classroom, the doggo can lift the mood of the students. Also, a companion dog helps kids connect socially with other children. This companion dog is now under training to also be a therapy dog and detect when a child is unwell.
