Linda Hamik lives in the Santa Rosa’s Meadowood Estates neighborhood, where the Mayacamas Vineyard caught fire. Hamik had been observing a stray Chihuahua for several days but all attempts to catch it failed.
She even noticed that the dog looked a little plump so she guessed arrival of puppies.
When the fire happened Hamik had to evacuate her house. When she returned, she looked for the dog. What she saw was a wonderful surprise because she found six puppies with the momma dog.
A man who lives in the field told her that the puppies were born on the day fire broke out.

These puppies are miraculous as they arrived amidst so much of devastation around. They have now found temporary homes in Hamik’s garage. According to Hamik they are like a ray of hope amidst darkness.
“They are a ray of light in all this darkness,” she said.
