In Dayton, Ohio, a dog named Cassie has been at a shelter for 525 days. The owner of the Humane Society of Greater Dayton announced on their Facebook page that the waiting is finally over for the doggo after someone came and finally wanted to take her home.

The dog, a five-year-old black and tan hound-shepherd mix, came from Kentucky. She was adopted a number of times in the past but was always returned. The doggo later underwent training programs to become a therapy dog. The dog mainly visits nursing homes and elementary schools to give joy to elders and children.
The dog later became a superstar in the advertisements for Jeff Schmitt Auto Group. Accordingly, because of the dog’s face on most of their ads, the new dog owner decided to take her home.
