Dog owners sometimes give in to the puppy dog eyes of their furry friends when they are eating something so they tend to share it to their pet. The American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Kennel Club said that there are some red flags to watch out for when deciding to share human food with dogs.
– Dogs may eat human food.
– Raw bones with small meat are great for dogs.
– Honey and raw peanut butter are also good snacks for dogs.
Meat and dairy products are okay for dogs. High fat content is difficult to digest in dogs so the best meat is pork. It is also best to give them raw bones with meat.
As for fish, salmon and sardines are the best option but they must be cooked thoroughly. Quinoa and white bread are also great for dogs but onions, garlic, and the like are poisonous for dogs.
For snacks, dogs may eat honey and raw peanut butter. Almonds and pecans are a no-no for dogs.
