The Nevada Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) revealed that they are letting elderly people adopt senior cats and doggos for free. The program is called Senior for Seniors and this is the first time the Nevada SPCA organized this.

Accordingly, they are celebrating Adopt-A-Senior-Pet this month of November so they came up with the program. It will officially start on November 12, Thursday. To qualify, the elderly must be over the age of 65 and is willing to adopt a senior cat aged 10 or older or a senior dog aged 8 or older. The program’s aim is to spread joy to elderlies as they will be able to discover that there is joy in having an animal companion.
The aim of the Nevada SPCA is based on studies. Per the findings, both physical and mental health of elderly people will improve if they have an animal around. They would be less likely to fall into depression or sadness.
