In New Jersey, Cumberland County Technical Education Center decided to hire a doggo and a dog handler in order to perform campus safety and security duties. This comes in the heels of the many school shootings all over the country.

Accordingly, a local K-9 trainer approached the superintendent of the education center and asked if they wanted to have the doggo as an additional layer of safety in the schools in the area. They then found a dog handler and the duo patrols the school to make sure there won’t be any major crime going on. The doggo is especially trained to detect guns and ammunition as well as to look for the location of an active shooter during an attack.
The dog, who is being called Meadow, actually got her name from one of the victims of a school shooting last February in Florida.
