The robot dog named Spot was from the Boston Dynamics. There was a loan agreement between Boston Dynamics and the police and that the agreement included using the doggo for purposes of “evaluating the robot’s capabilities in law enforcement applications, particularly remote inspection of potentially dangerous environments which may contain suspects and ordinances.” Spot was used by the Bomb Squad of the police department.

State police spokesman David Procopio noted that the robot technology is a valuable tool for law enforcement because of its “ability to provide situational awareness of potentially dangerous environments.” It is unclear what the next step is after the evaluation period of Spot.
