A man dined at a restaurant in Christchurch. The restaurant, however, did something that angered him.
– A man was fostering a guide dog.
– The man dined at a restaurant with the guide dog.
– The manager of the restaurant asked the dog to be removed because…
The restaurant is called Sister Kong and the man was waiting for his mother and the guide dog they were fostering for the owner who was away. The dog is a three-year-old Golden Labrador Retriever and was even wearing the Blind Foundation red coat in order to let others know that it was a guide dog. Minutes later, the manager told them that dogs are not allowed in the restaurant for health and safety reasons.
The man then took to the Facebook page of the restaurant to talk about it. The owner of the restaurant contacted the man and posted a public apology on the page of the restaurant. The owner shared, “We cannot apologise enough. We love all dogs (we have two) and have a huge respect for guide dogs and the incredible work they do.” The owner promised to look into their policies and train the team to handle such incidents.
