When a South Dakota Officer named Briston Bruce was undergoing surgery for brain, burglars broke into his house and stole electronics and a four month old puppy.
When Aberdeen investigators came to know of this they instantly knew they had to find the German shepherd.

Investigations began and they finally found Bruce’s puppy five hours away in the Twin Cities. Detective Carter Staaf said the motivation to find the puppy was doubled because it belonged to another police officer.
Although their departments differ, they are like one big family. The officers have arrested Hassan Mohamoud Yusuf in this case. The 18 year old faces several charges against him.
“They told me a puppy was stolen, but here’s the deal, it was one of our officers and it happened while he was having surgery to remove a brain tumor,” he said.
