The proposal was currently approved by the Senate. The bill was supported by Senators Ryan Weld and Stephen Baldwin. They decided to come up with such proposal because they wanted to bring attending to the doggos that are living in these shelters and rescue organizations in the state. There are around 500 shelters and organizations in West Virginia so there really are a lot of doggos under their care. Weld added in a statement, “Just because a dog is at a shelter doesn’t mean that there’s something wrong with the dog. That dog needs a second chance and is looking for a new friend, just like you might be. “
The proposal will soon be voted upon by the House of Delegates.
