A professor and his doggo were out on a walk when they were killed. Illegal street racers accidentally struck them. The incident took place during the Fourth of July.

Officials said that two street racing vehicles were involved in the accident. They were speeding and subsequently collided. One of the drivers then lost control of the vehicle and struck the 49-year-old dog owner and his dog. Friends said that the dog owner was a Pasadena Community College professor and he always goes everywhere with his doggo. The girlfriend of the dog owner was with them during the accident but she was not injured or hurt.
The race car drivers were 17-year-old males. They have not been identified because they are still minors. They have been charged with street racing, reckless driving, and vehicular manslaughter.
