A stray dog was abandoned by its owner in Thailand. The doggo was named Mercedes because the mixed-breed dog was abandoned by someone in a Mercedes Benz vehicle. The dog started to wander around a Bangkok food market and was eventually adopted by a food vendor. The vendor died so the other vendors tried to help feed the doggo. However, the dog got so overweight that it could no longer stand.
The doggo already lost 27 kilograms after it was taken in by a woman who runs a foster home for doggos in the area. The dog, however, had excess skin so the doggo became prone to skin sores and bladder-related infections. That is why the doggo had to be flown to Ottawa for vets to remove its excess skin. The doggo still has to lose five kilograms before she undergoes another surgery for removal of the other excess skin.
The dog now loves going out for walks. Volunteers working with the doggo will find the doggo a fur-ever home in Canada once the surgery is done.
