Skye has been a part of many operations during her time with Lake District Mountain Rescue Searchdogs. The doggo was part of one operation where a man has been missing for three days while on the highest mountain in England. The dog also visited schools and organizations to educate more people about search and rescue doggos.
The dog is handled by owner John Leadbetter and whenever she is at home, she’s just an ordinary family dog. However, when it’s already work mode, Skye knows how to be professional and does the job asked of her. Leadbetter shared that it’s very difficult to let Skye retire because although her “head and heart are willing, the body is decidedly weaker and searching takes too much of a toll nowadays.”
