In Lake County, Florida, a doggo was spotted clinging for its life while on a log. The dog was just a few inches above an alligator-infested swamp.

The dog was supposed to be the dinner of the alligators in the swamp. Fortunately, a Florida animal control officer was able to rescue the doggo on time. The officer is with the Animal Enforcement in the area and was identified as Amy Riccio. Accordingly, people who saw the doggo “were concerned the alligators would get to the dog before units could arrive” so they had to call someone for help.

When Riccio arrived, she immediately made a makeshift bridge to get to the doggo. She was able to get the dog’s trust so the rescue was easy after getting to the area where the dog got stuck. Riccio even carried the dog on her shoulders to make sure the dog would get to land safely.

The dog owner has not been identified yet. Until the dog owner comes forward, the Lake County Animal Shelter will take care of the animal.
