The incident happened on Friday afternoon at the Silver Lake Mobile Home Park. The off-duty officer, identified as Christopher Corner, said that he left the police station at around 4 P.M. He was driving when he saw smoke from the mobile home park. He then drove there and saw that a home was on fire. One of the doors of the mobile home was opened so he went inside to check if anyone was left and he found a doggo. They managed to get out safely.
Wareham Chief of Police John Walcek thanked Corner saying that the off-duty officer even came from a double shift on patrol.
