A therapy dog is bringing smiles to the residents of a nursing home in New Jersey. Accordingly, everyone feels warm and energized whenever the doggo is there.

The therapy dog named Koko was taken to the nursing facility in Montclair, New Jersey just a week before Christmas. Koko is owned by Bruce and Sangita Benway. They said that the dog was trained at an obedience school and since she was certified as a therapy dog, she has been a natural at it because she is very calm and composed around strangers. Koko and another doggo makes their rounds at the nursing facility once a month.
The activity director at the nursing home said that their residents “come out of where they are when they see the dogs.” Whenever they see Koko and the other doggo, the residents interact with them and even those who don’t usually smile show off their beautiful, rare smiles.
