In Louisville, Kentucky, a nurse has got to have the biggest heart. She is taking care of the dog of her terminally ill patient because the latter has no other family to take care of the furry pal.

Accordingly, the nurse works at Norton Audubon Hospital. She did not want to take the doggo in at first but she, together with other nurses, even tried to take the doggo to a rescue organization or foster groups. The nurse was identified as Penny Manning and she said that the doggo has been alone for two days so she finally gave in. She noted that there was no other option but for her to take care of the 12-year-old deaf and partially blind animal.
Manning shared, “You could see the relief on (the patient’s) face. He was just worried whoever took the dog would want to keep the dog.” Manning actually has two rescue doggos and she said that she is not interested in keeping her patient’s pet unless there was a need for it. The doggo has been settling in very well and Manning always updates the patient regarding the doggo.
