The dog is a golden retriever and he passed away on Saturday night. His family shared in his social media page that they will miss the doggo “more than words can say.” The family referred to the doggo as a sweet boy and they noted that they were blessed he became part of their life for 12 and a half years. It is unclear what was the reason for Parker’s death.
The dog was also well known for his role in raising funds for cancer research. One of the owners shared in their statement, “He’s walked up and down the west coast. He’s got a cancer vest and it has thousands of names of people and animals that have battled cancer.” Parker, together with his two siblings, Gill and Reser, spent a lot of hours at schools, hospitals, courts, libraries, and jails to offer dog therapy.
