According to the Idaho Department of Fish and Game, a family was with their doggo while they were visiting a popular tourist spot called Wild Rose Hot Springs. They were there on November 5 and out of nowhere, a mountain lion attacked. The lion was able to get one of the small dogs of the family. Efforts in finding the doggo remained futile to this day.
The Idaho Department of Fish and Game said in a statement that although mountain lion avoid people, they can be adopted by pets or other small animals. They also usually attack early in the morning or in the evening.
Dog owners are also asked to observe their doggos when in areas where wild animals may be close by. Dogs can sense other animals before humans do. Dog owners are likewise asked to always have their pets leashed.
