The latest dog is a five-month-old golden retriever named Hobey. He is the latest doggo to be part of their Adopt-A-Dog program. The dog will soon be given to a retired or discharged service person once he completes the service dog training. Hobey was adopted from Coco’s Heart Dog Rescue. Hobey will be trained with basic obedience by Minnesota Wild Chief Financial Officer Jeff Pellegrom and his wife until 2021. After that, he will be trained by Soldier’s 6, a non-profit organization providing trained doggos to honorably discharged veterans, police officers, and firefighters.
The first dog Minnesota Wild adopted and trained was Breezer. He was adopted from the same rescue center. Breezer is currently training with Soldier’s 6.
