Three four-year-old Belgian Malinoise dogs are now back in the United States and are adjusting to become home doggos after how many years in Syria. The dogs were trained to detect bombs in the war-torn country.

The doggos, named Der, Rambo, and Rhino are hoping to be given fur-ever homes soon. Accordingly, military dogs “keep working until they’re just not capable of working anymore” and when the time comes that such doggos have to retire, they usually get adopted by their handlers “in the countries where they were serving.”
However, that’s not the case all the time because some dogs have to be taken back to the U.S. Der, Rambo, and Rhino are now in Houston and are working with Mission K9 Rescue to help them be more civilized. The rehabilitation process is not quick so it is unclear when these dogs are going to be adopted out.
