A Mardi Gras Dog Parade in DeLand, Florida drew more than 10,000 people. The event was the 21st annual Mardi Gras on Main Street.

– Doggos of all shapes, sizes, and breeds wore superhero costumes because it was the theme.
The event was organized by Krewe of Amalee, a local women’s nonprofit. The theme for this year is superheroes and one of the event goers said that it is their second year to go to the event because they are dog lovers. Aside from the doggos, there were also 85 floats from different organizations that joined the parade.
It is unclear how much was raised for this year’s event but for the past years, Krewe of Amalee raised more than $550,000. The proceeds are divided to different organizations not just for animals but also for children and families.
During the first year of the annual event, there were only 10 dogs who joined the parade. Now, the turnout is overwhelming.
