In Oceanside, California, a man with a machete broke the windshield of a police patrol car. Later, when the man was arrested, he used his weapon once again and stabbed a police dog.

The incident took place on Tuesday at around 5 P.M. According to the authorities, it remains unclear why the man attacked the vehicle and the police dog because they did not do anything to provoke the man. The man reportedly fled and police started a manhunt. A helicopter was deployed by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department to assist with the search and later they found the man in a river.
It is unclear how the police dog was stabbed during the arrest of the man. The police dog was taken to a veterinarian but there are no updates as to the condition of the animal.
