The man was identified as 35-year-old Derrick Peterson. He has since been charged with animal neglect and abandonment. The doggo is a two-year-old Chihuahua and thanks to a Good Samaritan, the dog was saved before it was too late. The dog weighed only four pounds when it was rescued. The dog also suffered from intestinal parasites and hair loss.
The good thing about this story though is that the dog was regained 25 percent of his body weight in the first two days from when he was rescued. The dog will undergo recovery and once it is completed, the dog will be up for adoption.
