Accordingly, the bear was a black bear and the doggo and the dog owner chanced upon it when they were hiking on a private timberland property near their home. The bear was 20 feet away from them but the doggo started barking and ran toward the bear. The bear then knocked down the doggo and went on top of the pet.
The dog owner scared the bear away by yelling at it and waving his arms in the air. The bear then turned his attention to the dog owner and knocked the man to the ground. The man continued to fight with the bear and eventually the bear left.
The dog owner and the doggo were injured from the incident but were able to hike back to their home and called for medical assistance. The man received puncture wounds to his arm and cuts to his head and torso. It is unclear what injuries the doggo suffered from. They are now recovering at home.
