Lady luck was in full favour of Michael Young, a resident from Kendallville. He bought a scratch-off lottery ticket that cost him $5 for a rather unusual reason.
The name Ruby Mine 9X reminded him of his beloved later Labrador retriever.
Ruby, the dog died at 14 years of age and it seems like she’s still lucky for her owner.
What was the good luck?
Michael Young won the $90,000 prize money which he least expected. He said in an interview ““I just couldn’t believe it.”

When he surprised his wife with the good news she could hardly believe him. The couple hopes to use the money to pay off mortgage and keep the rest for retirement.
