A campaign called Adopt-A-Dog is the latest way that a shelter thought of in order to increase the rate of adoption of the animals under their care. The shelter is called Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County.

For October, they tagged the whole month as Adopt-A-Dog Month. The shelter worked together with Kent State University’s Veterinary Technology program to find fur-ever homes not only for doggos but also for cats. Photos of the adoptable animals will be up on the shelter’s Facebook and Instagram accounts.
Lorilyn Shandor, the chief executive officer of Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County, said that although there was an increase of adoptions at the start of the pandemic when people spent a lot of time at home, many dogs and cats still need a place to call home.
