A group of legislators in Minnesota wanted to make the dog breed their state dog and they claimed that such doggos are good looking, sleek, strong, and fast. One of the legislators said that such traits symbolize Minnesota.
Aside from the Labrador Retriever possibly being the state dog of Minnesota, the legislation also hopes to raise awareness for service and rescue animas and encourage kids to know more about the legislative process.
It is unclear when the designation would be made if the legislation is approved. There are oppositions now designating the Labrador Retriever as Minnesota’s state dog.
