A doggo in Tennessee is claimed to be the oldest living golden retriever. That is according to a shelter where the doggo stayed before as the new owners just celebrated the dog’s birthday.
– A dog from a shelter is said to be the oldest living Golden Retriever ever.
– The GoldHeart Golden Retrievers Rescue claimed that they believe the oldest ever reported Golden Retriever was 19 years old.
– The dog that they adopted out, named Augie, is now…
The doggo is named Augie and was once with GoldHeart Golden Retrievers Rescue. The shelter shared in their post, “There are many accounts of 17 or 18-year-old goldens, and even a few stories about 19-year-old goldens, but Augie is the first golden retriever to ever reach the big two-oh.” The dog was adopted by a couple from Oakland, Tennessee and they recently celebrated Augie’s birthday. Augie shares the home with three other Golden Retriever named Belle, Bruce, and Sherman.
As for Augie, she remains to be healthy except for some kidney issues. She also takes supplements for her joints.
It is still unclear if Augie is indeed the oldest Golden Retriever living today.
