In Ohio, a dog was paired with an inmate and was later found dead. Months later, the inmate was indicted on a felony charge.
– A foster dog was allegedly killed by an inmate.
– The dog was given to the inmate by a charity called Joseph’s legacy.
– The inmate was recently indicted.
The man, Benjamin Holiday, was an inmate at the Warren Correctional Institution. It is believed that the dog was kicked by Holiday because according to the findings, the dog died of blunt force trauma to her abdomen. Although that was the cause of the dog’s death, authorities believe there was an ongoing abuse of the doggo. The motive remains unknown.
Holidays is now at the Madison Correctional Institution. If proven guilty regarding the death of the dog, he could spend another year in prison, which is in addition to his more than nine years of life behind bars because of robbery, burglary, and receiving stolen property.
The dog, a German Shepherd, was part of the program of Joseph’s Legacy, an animal rescue charity.
