South Korea is known for its dog meat market and one of the most notorious markets was recently shut down. A total of 80 doggos were saved and were given a second shot at life.

The dog market is located in Busan, South Korea. Humane Society International announced earlier this week that the dog market, called Gupo, was shut down by South Korean authorities. The dogs that were saved from the dog market were taken to different animal charities. The dog market will be converted to a public park.
This latest closure comes after the closure of the largest dog slaughterhouse in Seongnam city last year. Many have called out the still rampant dog meat trade in South Korea.
