A search and rescue operation in Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico involved a highly skilled human remain detection dog and the operation ended bitterly – two bodies belonging to missing teens were found.

According to the dog’s handler, they were tapped for help to look for the bodies of two teenagers. The doggo was successful in locating the bodies of 14-year-old Ahmed Lateef and 15-year-old Collin Romero. The two boys have been missing for two weeks and were murdered. The human remain detection dog, named KT, is one of the few doggos that have such job in New Mexico.
The dog has been to other states to assist the FBI in looking for human remains, too. The dog’s handler said that she hopes the doggo being able to assist in these kinds of cases will hopefully “bring a conviction.” The dog’s handler hopes to train more dogs for this kind of job.
