Naturally, dogs follow the leader of the pack. This is the reason why your dog must regard you as a leader to follow your commands.
– Dominance is not hurting your dog
– Show him you are alpha
– Control his feeding
Dogs operate on hierarchy. If you show him that you are the “alpha” then your dog will follow and respond to your commands.
Being a pack leader does not mean hurting your dog. Leadership is shown by silent dominance, being confident and having the skill to give order and follow through.
Your dog must learn everything. If you give your dog everything it wants, it will become bossy. This means you will not pet, feed or talk to him even if he is demanding attention. He must complete a command before you reward him with anything.
Another way to show dominance is to control feeding arrangements. This means you must eat first before he can eat. Don’t feed him in the same place every day and control the environment he is eating in.
