Two dogs were found tied to a tree and apparently died of gunshot wounds. Police are still investigating who and why would do such a thing.
According to reports, a suspect has been identified but did not comment further on the progress of the investigation.
The two dogs were located by state troopers on Tuesday for necropsies in order to know when the dogs died and how.
A hunter discovered the dogs. It was not stated whether police knew of the dogs through the Facebook post. The post about the dead dogs was later taken down.
Kari Coble, the founder of a nonprofit rescue group called One Dog At A Time, commented on the case.

Coble said she has seen this kinds of dog killings more and more frequently and it is unfortunate. She hopes “more tools, trainings, and resources” would be given to law enforcement to end animal cruelty.
“Unfortunately, nothing shocks me anymore,” Coble said. “I see this kind of stuff happen way too often.”
