Are you excited for Thanksgiving Day? Indeed, one of the most awaited holidays of the year is Thanksgiving Day. But do you think you should include your dog during the celebration?
In Bay St. Louis, some pet owners treated their dogs to a “day of thanks” Saturday in the Depot District. This is the second annual Barksgiving. They have lots of activities which both the pet owners and the dogs will surely enjoy and love.
The founder believes that this is the perfect time to treat the dogs and to thank them for bringing friendship and companionship, as well as security.
How much fun is Barksgiving?
They call is Barksgiving because it is close to Thanksgiving Day. The participants are encouraged to let their dogs wear their costumes during the parade.
One of the participants did not just let her dog wear a costume dress, but she also makes a theme costume for her entire family. Happy stories like this must be shared on Facebook! Evans said although the race can be quite entertaining, she wasn’t encouraging spectators to place bets on the dogs.
“The dachshund races are adorable,” she said. “But they are quite unpredictable. Sometimes they run in a circle or sometimes in a straight line. You never know which way they are going to go or which dog is going to win. It’s a lot of fun.” This interesting article written by Jeff Clark can be read at: http://www.sunherald.com/
