Dogs are really a man’s best friend and if something happens to them, it could be devastating. Former professional baseball pitcher Jeremy Affeldt revealed that he saved his dog’s life.
– One of the dogs owned by Jeremy Affeldt’s family choked on a turkey neck.
– The family believed the dog would already die because the dog was not responding.
– The dog was later taken to…
The three-time Giants World Series champion shared that one day while he was out in the barn with his son, he heard his wife and sister-in-law say that someone is dying. That someone is actually their dog, then-five-month-old Kodi, a South African Boerboel. The dog was choking on a turkey neck and the dog was already limp. Affeldt’s wife tried the Heimlich method but it wasn’t working so Affeldt reached into the throat of the dog and ripped out the bone.
That, however, did not save the doggo yet. Affeldt then gave the dog a mouth-to-mouth but everyone was crying because they knew the dog was already dead. Affeldt did not give up so he continued to give the dog a mouth-to-mouth and because he was determined to keep the dog alive, the dog was taken to a vet. Doctors gave the dog oxygen and he was able to make it.
