Lots of dogs are employed at airports all over the world but the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) wants to employ more floppy-eared doggos. This is because such doggos look friendlier to children and other passengers.

TSA chief David Pekoske said that he wants airport security doggos to have more welcoming faces and per the experts he contacted, the recommended dog breeds are Labrador Retrievers. German Shepherds aren’t as favored because they tend to be scary especially to children. There are no behavioral differences between floppy-eared doggos and pointy-eared doggos but the former look gentler and friendlier.
Despite the preference over floppy-eared doggos, a spokesperson for the TSA said that both kinds of doggos will still be trained and whoever meets the high demand for working for the TSA would still be employed at airports.
