To lose a dog is devastating and to lose him or her due to a fire is even more saddening.
Firefighters responded at a home in Vancouver on Tuesday evening after a fire broke out. Neighbors called for help as fire engulfed the two-story home.
Reports say that a woman and her dog lived inside the home. The woman was able to escape but her dog did not make it out.
Firefighters entered the house to look for other residents but saw the unconscious dog. The firefighters took the dog out and tried to resuscitate the dog but they were too late.
Details about how long the dog owner has had the dog remains unclear. It is also unknown what the dog was and how old it was.
